On 28–29 January 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai, led by H.E. Miss Nipa Nirannoot, Consul-General, in collaboration with the Thailand Foundation and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, organized the “Roi Malai” (Thai Garland Making) Workshop by Mr. Sakul Intakul as part of the Sikka Art & Design Festival 2026. Held at the historic Al Shindagha Museum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the event aimed to promote community and family engagement in alignment with the UAE’s national theme for 2026, the “Year of Family.”

To support this initiative, the Thailand Foundation invited world-renowned floral artist Mr. Sakul Intakul to lead the workshop and share the intricate art of contemporary Thai garland making. The event attracted over 120 participants, including senior female officials from the Dubai government, members of the female consular corps, and a diverse international audience. Participants contributed their individual creations to a large-scale collaborative art installation, symbolizing cultural unity and the beauty of collective creativity. This event also marked the historic first participation of a Thai artist in this prestigious international art festival.

The Thailand Foundation remains committed to promoting people-to-people connectivity through cultural exchange and traditional wisdom, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening Thai Soft Power on the global stage.
