On 20 September 2025, Ms. Nipha Nirunnutt, Consul-General in Dubai, presided over a ceremony to donate 118 books about Thailand to the library of Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, UAE. This was an initiative under the Consulate-General’s Thailand Corner Project, with support from the Thailand Foundation.

Prof. Dr. Awad AlKhalaf, Chancellor of the University, represented Al Qasimia University in accepting the book donation. Mr. Sorayuth Chasombat, Ambassador of Thailand to Abu Dhabi, was also a witness. The donation was made to express gratitude to the university for its continuous support and for providing scholarships to more than 500 Thai students. The Consulate-General is also pleased to have played a part in promoting the establishment of the Thai Student Alumni Association in Sharjah.

On this occasion, a representative from the Thai Student Alumni Association in Sharjah delivered a speech in Arabic to express gratitude to the university and the Thailand Foundation. Committed to increasing global access to the principles and origins of Thainess, Thailand Corner aims to provide a valuable source of interesting information, showcasing the positive image of Thailand in various aspects. It is intended for students, the general public, and others to study, research, and gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of Thailand, and especially to raise awareness about the country.
