On 14 January 2026, Ambassador Sorut Sukthaworn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thailand Foundation, along with the Thailand foundation officials, attended the Opening Ceremony of the Seminar and Knowledge-sharing Session on “Thai National Dress” (Thai Phra Rajaniyom). The event, held under the project to promote the International Potential of Thai Applied Culture, took place at the ICON Art & Culture Space, 8th floor, ICONSIAM, Bangkok. The Ceremony was presided over by H.E. Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture.
The Ceremony presented a fashion showcase of the eight styles of Thai National Dress—a heritage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother—along with three styles of the “Suea Thai Phra Rajathan” (royally bestowed Thai shirt) for men. Additionally, a specialized seminar titled “Eight Styles of Thai National Dress: The Heritage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother” was conducted by distinguished experts, including Dr. Korakod Kamsuk, Dr. Sibdee Nopprasert, and Ms. Satsarat Maddin, Curator of the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles.
Furthermore, an Exhibition of Thai National Dress held in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother will be on display from 14 – 20 January 2026, at Thara Hall, M Floor, ICONSIAM, Bangkok.
