Explore Thailand Through Food and Rail: Useful Guides by Richard Barrow

พฤษภาคม 19, 2026

At the Eighth Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP8), Thailand Foundation had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Richard Barrow, a British expat, citizen journalist, photographer, and long-time observer of Thailand’s transport system, who has lived and worked in Thailand for over 30 years.

In his session, “Discovering the Four Regions of Thailand by Rails,” Mr. Barrow invited participants to see Thailand’s railway system not only as a mode of transport, but also as a meaningful way to discover the country’s diverse regions, local communities, hidden gems, and everyday ways of life.

The session was warmly received by EOP8 participants, many of whom described it as inspiring, informative, and highly engaging. Several shared that the presentation encouraged them to seriously consider traveling around Thailand by train, even if they had never planned to do so before.

To help participants and friends of Thailand continue their journey of discovery beyond EOP8, Thailand Foundation is pleased to share two useful guides created by Mr. Richard Barrow.
