December 24, 2025

On 17 November 2025, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana presided over the premiere of the special exhibition “Golden Friendship, Shared Brilliance” at the Wenhua Hall (Hall of Literary Glory) within the Palace Museum in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. This historic exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. It is the result of a collaborative effort between the Fine Arts Department, Ministry of Culture; the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing; the Department of East Asian Affairs and the Thailand Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the Palace Museum of the People’s Republic of China. The showcase highlights the shared prosperity of both civilizations as they move toward a shared future. It serves as a cornerstone for enhancing cultural and museum cooperation, further solidifying the enduring friendship between the two nations through dynamic exchange and mutual learning.

Thailand is presenting 228 significant artifacts and works of art, exhibited alongside 58 artifacts from the Palace Museum, from 18 November 2025 to 24 February 2026. The exhibition is structured into four thematic sections: (1) the historical development of Thailand and Thai-Chinese interactions; (2) beliefs and religions; (3) court art; and (4) contemporary Thai art, reflecting the deep historical and cultural connections between the two countries. Following the exhibition in China, selected key artifacts will be brought to Thailand for display at the Bangkok National Museum in late 2026, providing an opportunity for the Thai public to appreciate the value of this shared cultural heritage and to reflect upon the long-standing relationship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the People’s Republic of China.
